Ltd. which is a Korea-based construction company specialized in civil works, architectural works, housing development and others. Its civil works include the construction of dams, hydropower facilities, and tunnels. The Lawari Tunnel is Lowari Pass (Urdu: درہ لواری), or Lowari Top, (el. 10,230 ft.) is a high mountain pass, connecting the regions of Chitral and Dir Upper within the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Lowari Pass is a relatively low pass, by far the lowest pass to enter Chitral. All the other are around 12,000 to 15,000 feet. Lowari Tunnel is a Rs26 billion project on which Rs23b have been spent so far. The road inside the tunnel has almost been completed. The ceiling has also been constructed and pavements made. To provide all weather link access to the people of valley, a project of Lowari Tunnel was initiated in the year 2005 with concept of piggy back rail through 8.5 km tunnel with 1.9 km of access Although the Lowari tunnel promises prosperity and progress in all sectors in Chitral, it is taken as a threat to the socio-cultural and economic life as well the peace and tranquility of Chitral.
