London's only contemporary Scottish bar and restaurant in the heart of the capital on Trafalgar Square, Albannach is a truly unique venue. Presenting the best of Scotland with an unrivalled range of Scottish Malts (in excess of 120) and a menu using only the best produce from north of the border, Albannach opened in early 2005 and has since received great acclaim. An odd evening of pluses and minuses. On the plus side, the staff are charming and attentive and the food is pretty much OK. The major minus is the fact that this has to be the noisiest place in London. The restaurant is in the bar and the deafening din from a bunch of beer-swilling M&S-suited oiks quite ruined the evening for us. The Albannach's elegant interior sets it apart from the tourist traps surrounding its Trafalgar Square location.
