That's a terrible neighbourhood. The rest of Nieuwegein is much nicer than what most people think. There are neighbourhoods with spacious houses with gardens at the waterside. Public transport and highway connections are excellent. The northern part is just as close to Utrecht city centre as many Utrecht suburbs. 1.
