New Frontiers in Ocean Exploration: The E/V Nautilus, NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer, and R/V Falkor 2019 Field Season is the tenth consecutive supplement on ocean exploration to accompany Oceanography. These booklets provide details about the innovative technologies deployed to investigate the seafloor and water column and explain how telepresence NOAA's National Geodetic Survey (NGS) provides the framework for all positioning activities in the Nation. The ship was commissioned into the NOAA fleet on August 13, 2008 and is currently homeported in Newport, Rhode Island. The ship is considered America's ship for ocean exploration" as it is dedicated to exploration and discovery around the world, including in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, the U.S. Atlantic 2024 Mapping Shakedown + High Seas Mapping April 13-May 4, 2024.
