This species has a broad latitudinal distribution that spans more than 20 degrees. It is principally found in subtropical montane environments, mainly at altitudes We investigated 160 forest plots (each plot size: 20 m × 20 m; total area of all plots: 64,000 m 2) of forests containing Keteleeria evelyniana as the first dominant.
