By Staff Report. June 6, 2023. An Orlando sushi chef nominated for a James Beard Award came up just short in his bid to claim the title of Best Chef in the South. On Monday, the James Beard Foundation announced its 2023 Restaurant and Chef Awards winners. Nominations for the awards were announced in March, with chef Henry Moso among the finalists. One Orlando restaurant and three local chefs have been named as semifinalists in this year's James Beard Awards. On Wednesday, the organization announced its 2024 Restaurant and Chef Awards semifinalists. Nominees will be announced on April 3 and winners will be announced at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards Ceremony in Chicago on Orlando chef Henry Moso, from Kabooki Sushi, is a semifinalist in the 2022 James Beard Awards.
