The Guild-Hardy Trail is near Lookout Mountain just minutes away from Chattanooga and the state's border. The Guild-Hardy Trail is an 11.1-mile loop route that follows the old railroad tracks. You can do it with any type of bike, but electric bikes are the most popular choice. The Guild-Hardy Trail runs on an old Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain Broad Guage Railroad bed that ascends the forested slopes on the east side of Lookout Mountain. The trail begins on Ochs Highway and climbs into Lookout Mountain Battlefield, where it switches back and continues by Craven's House to end at Scenic Highway. The trail passes under the Lookout Mountain Incline, by Ruby Falls and The Guild-Hardy Trail was established in 1995 with the help of many people in our community. Once an abandoned narrow-gauge railway, it is now a lovely five-mile woodsy trail with intermittent views of downtown Chattanooga and the Tennessee River.
