David Mangelsdorf is Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmacology at UT Southwestern and an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. His research focuses on nuclear receptor regulation of metabolism. Dr Mangelsdorf will present his Medal Lecture at SfE BES Online 2020 Mangelsdorf, a Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator and a professor of pharmacology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, began his career by cloning the cellular receptor for vitamin D, which later helped other researchers uncover the genetic basis of osteoporosis and rickets ( 1, 2 ).
