Sahih Bukhari Volume 007, Book 069, Hadith Number 482. Narrated By Abu Huraira : On the night Allah's Apostle was taken on a night journey (Miraj) two cups, one containing wine and the other milk, were presented to him at Jerusalem. He looked at it and took the cup of milk. Gabriel said, "Praise be to Allah Who guided you to Al-Fitra (the Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing." (Quran, 17:1) Shab-e-Miraj means the night of "Ascendance". The Isra Night is the blessed night when the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was carried to the heaven and He (PBUH) reached a high stage of nearness to Almighty Allah which is beyond ordinary human perception. In Shab-e-Miraj the chief angel It is the 27 th day of the month of Rajab in the Islamic calendar. Allah SWT (God) took Prophet Muhammad SAW (spelled as Muhammad or Mohamed sometimes) on a famous journey from blessed Mecca (Makkah) to Jerusalem (Palestine) and then to heaven. It was 621 C.E. and the day was Sunday or Monday when the Incident of Mi'raaj took place. Woh tamam Ahadith Mozu hain (yani jhooti). Is liye khoob samajhna chahye ke Shab e Meraj ke liye koi khaas ibadat, nawafil, ya namaz nahi hai. Na hi is raat main alag se koi khaas ibadat ka hukum hai. Haan, agar ap rozana Tahajjud parhtay hain, to is raat main bhi parhay. Agar roz tilawat kartay hain to is raat main bhi karain. Shab e Meraj is related to the Prophet Muhammad's journey as it marks the night when he was taken on a spiritual and physical journey by Allah. The journey is believed to have been a test of the Prophet's faith and devotion to Allah.
