Kosovo's former Minister of Transport, Fatmir Limaj, and six other defendants have been accused of depriving the country's budget of over 2 million euro and of laundering a million euro. An EU Demir Limaj, brother of the leader of political party NISMA, Fatmir Limaj, was appointed as an assistant professor at the University of Prizren 'Ukshin Hoti,' UPZ, following a vote by the University's senate last Friday. His appointment comes at a time the university has been subject to criticism for its political ties. The appeals court in the town of Gjakova/Djakovica on Wednesday upheld the verdict acquitting Kosovo's Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj of war crimes. The verdict cleared him of charges that Kosovo's Supreme Court has acquitted Fatmir Limaj, former commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army, KLA, of committing war crimes in the Klecka detention centre in 1999. In its Judgement issued on 30 November 2005 in Prosecutor v. Limaj et al., Trial Chamber II of the ICTY found that an armed conflict existed in Kosovo between the Kosovo Liberation Army and the Serbian forces as of the end of May 1998.It held, however, that the evidence did not establish that there was a widespread or systematic attack by the KLA directed against a civilian population at the Isak Musliu (born 31 October 1970), [1] is a former member of Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA or UÇK in Albanian ).
