Appleton North's football program is — when considering other schools — still fairly new. Yet over its relatively short history, the Lightning have become arch-rivals with Kimberly's Papermakers. North beat Kimberly 21-10, which turned out to be Steve Jones' final game as Kimberly's head coach. Kimberly has outscored its opponents 62-3 in the first quarter. The win helped Kimberly (7-1, 6-1) grab a share of the Fox Valley Association title with Kaukauna.
