Years in the works, the new community building at Luetta Moore Park on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be open Thursday. A ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by tours of the building and The City, Bulloch County and the local recreation department officially reopened Luetta Moore Park after a nearly $3 million upgrade was completed. The reopening brings a pool back to the neighborhood as well as a large playground and picnic areas. The upgrades also include new lights, WiFi, and security cameras. City leaders say the The pool and splash pad will be open through Labor Day, Monday, September 6 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and will reopen for the 2022 season in May of next year. The pool will have certified life guards on the premises during hours of operation. Prior to the improvement project, Luetta Moore Park consisted of a softball field, little league AQUATICS.
